چکیده
Friction welding is a solid-state process that generates heat through mechanical friction between workpieces in relative motion to one another, with the addition of lateral force called upset plastically displace and fuse materials. One key problems during modeling processes implementation model. Coulomb model was proposed by researchers for computational solid mechanics (CSMs) process, however this law based on sliding motion. Norton also others, while simplifications limitations are caused coincidence reality. In paper, modified be employed inertia welding. A continuous remeshing technique used avoid mesh distortion problem. Consequently, successful prediction temperature distribution, thermal history, equivalent plastic deformation, axial shortening stress distribution made. The comparisons results study literature showed implementing methodology leads achieving high accuracy results.

A holistic Approach on the Simulation of Rotary-Friction-Welding
The contribution deals with a new holistic approach on the process simulation of Rotary Friction Welding (RFW). The main focus in this regard is on the proper determination of process parameters for new pairs of weld partners in a complete virtual manner. Basis of the simulation is a Carreau fluid material law coupled with the heat transfer problem. The plastic deformations of the flash are map...
متن کاملComputational Modeling of Friction Stir Welding
Friction stir welding (FSW) is a relatively new, solid-state, metal joining process invented by Wayne Thomas et al. at the Welding Institute of England (now TWI) in 1991 [1.] A FSW butt weld is made by following the joint-line of two butted pieces of material with a rotating tool while applying a significant down-force through the tool. Heating is provided at or near the tool-work interface by ...
متن کاملA Simple Geometrical Model for Solid Friction
We present a simple model for the friction of two solid bodies moving against each other. In a self consistent way we can obtain the dependence of the macroscopic friction force as a function of the driving velocity, the normal force and the ruggedness of the surfaces in contact. Our results are discussed in the context of friction laws used in earthquake models. PACS numbers: 46.30.Pa 81.40.Pa...
